Jul 01BE STILL?! Wha? You know that Bible verse that says
“Be still and know that I am God” ??
WELL…That can be applied even in nature! ESPECIALLY in nature! EXAMPLE: I went for a walk on the path behind our apartment this morning…I couldn’t sleep because my skin was itching from my allergy to cats/etc…and I walked probably about a mile. But I saw squirrels, this snake, butterflies, a hawk, blackberries I hadn’t noticed before, etc…ONLY when I STOPPED walking, and just looked around and took in what was around me. It’s amazing how much wildlife actually crawls out of the woodwork when you actually slow down to look and listen! :)
SAME APPLIES TO OUR WALK WITH GOD! IF WE SIT (OR STAND) STILL AND LISTEN AND PAY ATTENTION, THERE’S NO TELLING WHAT KIND OF WONDERFUL THINGS WILL COME “OUT OF THE WOODWORK” AND BRING PEACE AND EVEN (gasp) JOY INTO OUR LIVES!!!!
At any rate, that’s what my little adventure was this morning. It’s quite refreshing to have such a great lesson…while doing something that I love doing!
